Adam Pope was born August 2, 1885 to Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Pope of Sutton, and passed away February 12, 1965, at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 10 days.

He was confirmed at the age of 15 at the Reformed Church in Harvard. He became a member of the Federated Church in Sutton in March of 1931.

Mr. Pope was married on January 15, 1907 to Minnie Sterkel, who preceded him in death on June 10, 1961. They resided on a farm south of Sutton until 1952 when they retired and moved to town. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 15, 1957.

He was preceded in death by his wife, an infant daughter, seven brothers and three sisters.

He leaves to mourn his departure two daughters and two sons: Mrs. Hilda Joyce of Giltner, Mrs. Josephine Yost of Harvard, Raymond and Marvin of Sutton; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Unterseher; and two brothers, Henry and Dr. David Pope of Sutton.

Rev. Stanley Rider of the Sutton Federated Church officiated at services held at the Evangelical United Brethren Church Monday afternoon. Dale Hultine sang "In the Garden" and "God Understands." Mrs. Lloyd Hultine was organist. Interment was in the Sutton Cemetery. Bearers were Leslie Bauer, Sam Pope, Henry Goesch, Ted Pope, Herman Pope and Robert French.
