Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Burkhart Funeral Home for Mrs. Nelsie Grover who passed away Thursday. The services were conducted by Rev. A.L. Johnson. Mrs. N.M. Ogilvie sang "In the Garden" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." She was accompanied by Mrs. Nelson Duvick. Those acting as pallbearers wer Russell Stahl, Burney Rogne, Mervin Larson, George Gletty, Henry Becherer and Dwain Olson. Interment was made in the Leland Cemetery. Nelsie Isabelle Erickson Grover was born August 6, 1880, in Leland, IL. She passed away very quietly at Sandwich, IL, on December 27, 1951, at the age of 71 years, four months, 21 days. She was the daughter of Ira and Hannah Erickson and a sister of Alvina, all of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Henry B. Grover, January 24, 1901. To this union two children were born, Helen Mae and Ira Newton. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, Henry, her two children, Helen Mae and Ira Newton, a daughter-in-lawn, Elizabeth Grover, a son-in-law, Lester Leeds, a granddaughter, Lonnie Jean, and two cousins, Burney Rogne, of Hinckley, and Mrs. Ada Pratt, of Somonauk. She was baptized by Rev. Anderson, in Leland, and was reared in the Christian faith. She loved her Bible and had it well marked, showing how she treasured the teacher teachings of her Saviour. She was a wonderful wife and mother and taught her children to be like Christ, kind and loving. The Grovers wer so happy when they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last January 24. Two passages of Scripture were especially precious to her, Psalms 27:9, the text for her mothers burial, and Rev. 14:12 and 13, used when her sister was buried.
