Herbert retired from Ford Motor Company in 1991 after 26 years of service. He had also raised cattle and horses, enjoyed being outdoors and cutting firewood. He was a member of the Knightstown United Methodist Church and UAW 1111. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years: Marjorie (Kissick) Reeves; a daughter: Teresa (husband, Alan) Janney of Knightstown; a son: Jeff (wife, Kelly) Reeves of Hillsboro, KY; 2 granddaughters: Jenna and Mikayla Janney; one sister; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Bob, Dave and Barney Reeves; 4 sisters: Bessie Reeves, America Norris, Nina Yapp and Veda Brooks.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Curt Hunt officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knightstown United Methodist Church, 27 S. Jefferson St. Knightstown, IN 46148. Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, January 11, in Fairview Cemetery near Colfax, KY where military rites will be conducted.
