Mojave Resident Taken in Death
Rosary will be recited in Stickel Chapel at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 3rd, for Mrs. Bruna Valdivia, who passed away in A.V. Hospital May 31st. Mass will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday with burial to follow in Mojave Cemetery.
Mrs. Valdivia had been visiting at the home of her son, Frank K. Valdivia who lives in Lancaster. She was in her son's house with her grandson, Peter Valdivia, 19, when he heard her cry out and found her unconscious on the floor. Valdivia administered artificial respiration and his grandmother revived momentarily but lapsed into unconsciousness again. He rushed her in his car to the hospital where she was pronuonced dead.
Mrs. Valdivia was born Oct. 6, 1892' in Mexico and had lived in California for 45 years. She made her home in Mojave and was widowed at the time of her death, age 72.
She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Alegancha Cook and Mrs. Marcus Lagasse of Mojave, Josephine Rodriguez of Yuma, Arizona, and Tommy Acosta of Huntington Beach; three sons, Manuel and Domingo of Mojave, and Francisco of Lancaster; also 17 grandchildren.
