Archibald E. [should be H.] Woolever, 77, 611 Delaware Ave., retired manager of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of York, died at York General Hospital at 5 a.m. today. He had been in failing health the past three years.
Mr. Woolever was born at Circleville, O., Jan. 31, 1889, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonah Woolever. He came to York in 1925 from Polk where he was cashier of a bank and became manager of the loan association, a post he held until his retirement about 2 1/2 years ago.
He and Ruby Tucker were married in 1917.
Mr. Woolever was a member of the York Methodist Church and of the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his widow, Ruby; one son, Robert, Santa Barbara, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Albert (Catherine) Kamm, Clifton Springs, N.Y.; six grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Clarence Barnhart, and a brother, Ralph Woolever, both of Circleville. [Note: His first wife and mother of their son, Robert was Nellie Cone, b. 1892, d. 2 May 1914 in Chugwater, Wyoming.]
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Methodist Church, the Rev. Frank Kirtley officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
The body is at the Metz Mortuary.
