Karla was born April 9, 1959, the daughter of Daryl and Kathryn (Jessen) Moore. She was raised and educated in State Center, Iowa, area graduating from the West Marshall High School and furthering her education at DMACC and Iowa State University. Karla was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in State Center and was a former member of the State Center City Council. Karla enjoyed cross-stitching, playing eight-ball pool and was a wonderful cook. Most of all Karla loved spending time with her family and friends.
During her journey with caner, Karla was known for her sense of humor, her fighting spirit, her participation in the 2012 Marshalltown Relay For Life's "No Moore Cancer" Team, her hats and her unwavering belief that "Life is Good."
Karla is survived by her companion of ten years Duane Davis, of State Center, her children: Alexander Perry (Amber Mulinix), Aaron (Jessica) Perry, one stepson Matt Perry and her little girl Sadie Sue, her grandchildren: Korbin, Lilly, Kaulin, Noah and Savannah, her siblings: Kevin (Sharon) Moore, Karen (Randy) Frohwein, Kay (Darrel) Davis, Kelly (Jeff) Gerke, Karrie (Stephen) Reitz and several nieces and nephews, her special friends: Taven Brock, Janelle Durlin, Tracy Abate, Mae Darrow and Stacey Bane.
Karla was preceded in death by her Father Daryl Moore in February of 2012, her grandparents: Roy and Hilda Moore, Edwin and Anna Jessen and her step-son Chris Perry.
