James Halcomb, 76, Mooresville, died October 19, 2010, in St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Halcomb was born February 21, 1934, in Perry County, Kentucky, to the late Roy and Eva (Pratt) Halcomb. Mr. Halcomb was a forklift driver for GM Truck and Bus for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and also had served in the Indiana National Guard. Mr. Halcomb was a member of the UAW Local #23. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Halcomb. Survivors include his wife, Annis (Hoskins) Halcomb, to whom he was united in marriage December 30, 1970; son, Richard Halcomb (Julie) of Mooresville; daughters, Theresa Stone (Jeffery) of Mooresville and Susie Bauer (Bruce) of Iowa; grandchildren, Amy and Daniel Bauer; Sarah and Emily Stone; brothers, Jessie, Jasper, Lundy Halcomb all of Indianapolis; sisters, Allie Suttles, Gladys Geralds, Shirley Elmore, Mary Burgess, and Beulah Barger, all of Indianapolis, Dorothy McNulty of Mooresville; former spouse, Willa Martin of Florida. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m, Saturday, October 23, 2010, in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m, Friday, October 22, 2010.
