Emeline or “Emily” was the last one born in Capt. Sam Pottinger's old log house, near the Pottenger Fort. She was the fifth child and first daughter of Sam & Lucinda. She was another of the Pottinger historians that loved to "keep" the information and pass it on for others. When her sister Mariah Jane and husband Joseph died, she took in thier 5 children and raised them as well as her own children. Emeline married Carroll C. Blincoe on May 17, 1834 in Nelson Co, KY. They had four children;
*Sarah C. “Sallie” Blincoe 4-15-1836 to 1855 age 19 unmarried
*James Samuel Blincoe 1838 to 8-16-1840 infant
*James H. Blincoe 3-10-1841 to 9-21-1878 age 37 unmarried, died in Memphis, TN. He volunteered helping others with yellow fever and caught it as well.
*Thomas Jefferson Blincoe 3-12-1843 to 12-20-1899 m. Margaret Jane Smith, 4 children
Their only daughter, Sarah was buried at Pottinger’s Cemetery and later moved to Riverview. James Samuel was buried there as well and may also have been moved to the family plot at Riverview Cemetery. She and her husband gave land in New Haven, KY (inherited from her father) for Riverview Cemetery and in return, they could have a family plot up front. After her husband’s death in 1876, Emeline moved to Louisville and lived with her son, Thomas & Wife until his death in 1899.
