MRS. C. B. SCOTT
Iva Bess Scott, wife of C. B. [Charles B.] Scott, and daughter of the late Oliver and Sarah Richards Bess was born at Marquand, Missouri, on January 25, 1874, and died at her home on Farmington Route One, Friday, February 14, 1941, after three years of failing health. She was 67 years 19 days of age.
In 1899 she was united in marriage to W. H. Hibbits of Knob Lick, who preceded her in death in 1915. She was married in 1923 to C. B. Scott, who survives her. She also leaves two sons, James O. and Milo R. Hibbits of St. Louis, and a daughter, Edith (Mrs. Oscar) Chatman of Farmington; five grandchildren, five step-children, Maude (Mrs. Fred) Smallwood and Ina (Mrs. J. F.) Ridgeway, of Reno, Nevada; Audrey (Mrs. J. F.) Breen of Arkansas City, Kansas; Allen and Thomas Hibbits of Farmington; two step-grandchildren, Hilda (Mrs. Elva) McKinney of Elvins Route One, and Mrs. Beulah Kassabaum of St. Louis; also a sister, Mrs. E. B. Hunt, and a brother, Noah Bess of Columbia, Mo., and a brother, D. M. Bess of Columbia, Mo., and a brother D. M. Bess of St. Louis.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Knob Lick Church of God, conducted by Rev. J. H. Ball of Doe Run. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Caldwell Bros. Service.
