Died Monday, January 31, 2011
Mildred Frances Lawrence, 77, of Martinsville, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born Dec. 9, 1933, in Henry County to Robert Turner and Iris Purdy Turner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Lawrence Sr.; two sons, William F. Lawrence Jr. and Donald Cabel Lawrence; four sisters; and three brothers.
She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Surviving are a son, Adam W. Lawrence of North Carolina; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, Billy Turner of Martinsville, Lloyd Turner of Ridgeway, Wilber Turner of Eden, N.C., and Joseph Turner of Kentucky; four sisters, Elva Haskins and Virginia M. Turner, both of Collinsville, and Iris Mabel McBride and Susan Biege, both of Martinsville.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bassett Funeral Service with Pastors Jimmy Woods and Paul Hooker officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends for two hours before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
