Edwin Bookter Center was born August 16, 1882 to Thomas Murray & Mary Elizabeth (Dargan) Center in Chicota, Texas.
He came from a family of 9 children including himself. He grew up on the family farm.

On September 9, 1915 Edwin married Emma Katherine Liberton in Wichita, Kansas. From their union Edwin Burc Center, Jr. was born January 17, 1917 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The family moved to Wichita, Kansas where Edwin Jr. grew up.

In 1918 Edwin Bookter Center opened the Wichita Battery Company with William D. Bruner. Their distributorship handled the Philadelphia battery for the Wichita area.

On September 22, 1949 Mrs. Emma K. Center, 64, of 508 North Emporia, died in a local hospital after a long illness.

Edwin Bookter Center moved in with his son and his wife during the 1950's while they were raising their family. He lived with his son, daughter-in-law, and 5 grandsons the rest of his life.

Edwin Bookter Center passed away April 4, 1972 in Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, Texas at the age of 89. His funeral & burial was on April 5, 1972 in Hennessey, Oklahoma.

There was a total of 9 children in the family, six sons and three daughters. I have found all of the sons, but can not locate the 3 girls. Below is the information that I have on the 3 girls:

Margaret Dargan Center (female) Born Jan 26, 1875 - Fairfield, S.C.
Hester Boyd Center (female) Born Nov 9, 1874 - Desoto Parish, LA.
Helen Howard Center (female) Born Nov 18, 1876 - Desoto Parish, LA.

I hope to be able to find these 3 family members someday!
