Mrs. Ethel A. Nickel, St. Petersburg, Fla., died on Saturday at St. Petersburg where she had been living for the last three years. She was 77 years old.
She was born on July 1, 1890, a daughter of the late Ira and Ellen McCoy Adams. She was a retired employe of the Carlisle Shoe Company. She was a former member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church, where she was a teacher in the Intermediate Department of the Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the First E. U. B. Church, St. Petersburg.
Surviving are three sons, Eugene C., St. Petersburg; Earl S., St. Helena, Calif., and Ross R., Phoenix.; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth V. Rhoads, Carlisle; a brother, Harry Adams, Carlisle; a sister, Mrs. Russell Zeigler, Chambersburg, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hoffman Funeral Home, 219 North Hanover Street. The Rev. Robert L. Close, pastor of the First E.U.B. Church, and the Rev. F. E. Remaly, retired, will officiate. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow evening at the funeral home.
