On June 11, 1950 in Corwith, Iowa, Merlin and Lois Masterson were united in marriage.
Merlin was a member of Mendon Christian Church, and attended Rothville Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer, and had lived in the Mendon and Rothville area for many years.
At the time of his death, Merlin was grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister in infancy and three brothers.
Funeral services were held January 5, 2013, in Rothville, followed by burial in Mendon City Cemetery. Merlin's grandson's served as his pallbearers.
