Percy Patrick, Sr., of West River Rd., North, Fulton RD 1, well-known throughout the Central New York area for his leadership and dedication in veterans organizations as well as community involvement, died Sunday evening at Community
General Hospital, Syracuse, following an illness of several days. He was the father of Mayor Percy Patrick Jr. of this city. Mr. Patrick was born in Needham, Mass. Oct. 18,1898, the son of the late Frank and Bernice Cunningham Patrick. Fifty-four years ago he married Pearl Ingersoll, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Ingersoll of Fulton. He was a member of the Minetto United Methodist Church. Serving with Company D, 108th Infantry Division in the European Theater during World War I, Patrick was wounded in France and subsequently spent three years in veterans hospitals. Surviving are his wife, Pearl; five children, five children, Percy Patrick Jr. of Fulton; Kenneth of Minetto, Donald of Fulton, Mrs. Harold (Pearl) Hilling of Los Angeles, Calif, and Mrs. Albert ; (Patricia) Oliver of Canton, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond of Syracuse; a sister, Mrs. Harry Draper. Burial will be in Minetto Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 322 Oneida St. Military services will be conducted at graveside with members of the VFW, American Legion and Disabled Veterans participating.
