Oliver Springs, TN — Madge McGlothin Jones, 76, of Oliver Springs, died peacefully at her home on Friday, April 18, 2008. She was born March 7, 1932 in Huntsville, Tenn., the daughter of Robert Harvey McGlothin and May Sexton McGlothin. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a dedicated member of Middle Creek Baptist Church, where she participated in the WMU, taught the senior women's Sunday School class and served as the director of Vacation Bible School for 35 years. Even in failing health, she continued to serve the Lord through hundreds of hand-written notes sent to all that were in need of love and encouragement. She touched and inspired all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bob Jones; sons, Mike Jones and his wife, Ann, of Oliver Springs, and Kenny Jones of Oliver Springs; daughter, Sherry Smith and husband, John, of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Brenna Robinson and husband, Chris, of Cookeville, Corey Jones of Oliver Springs, Robbie Poe and wife, Jenny, of Nashville, Wesley Jones and wife, Emily, of Oliver Springs, Michael Poe and wife, Christal, of Buford, Ga., Anthony Jones of Oliver Springs, and Megan Broscious and husband, Chad, of Oliver Springs; great-grandchildren LeeAnn of Buford, Ga., and Thomas and Molly of Cookeville, and many other treasured family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Glen McGlothin of Coalfield, and her sisters, Marie Tanner of Maryville, Ruth Hamby of Coalfield; and June Kesterson of Coalfield. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, April 22, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m. with the funeral to follow at Middle Creek Baptist Church, the Rev. Ronald Guthrie officiating. Interment will be at Anderson Memorial Gardens, 11 a.m. Wednesday April 23, 2008.
