Shirrel Eugene Borg, our loving father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away December 31, 2012. Gene was born September 22, 1941 to Shirrel Borg and Ruth Petersen Borg Monsen. He married Bonnie Anderson August 23, 1958 until Bonnie's passing in 2002.
Gene loved his classic cars and car shows. He loved his family and spending time with them. Gene's sense of humor was infectious and like no other. He was witty and could always catch you off guard.
Gene graduated from the Trade Tech as a licensed professional plumber. He retired from CCI Mechanical in 1999 after nearly 25 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Murray Aerie #1760 for over 30 years.
Gene is survived by his children, Lorrie (Brad) Hill, Kenneth (Brenda), Sonny (MadaLynne); brothers and sisters, Nancy, Kenneth, Shirley, Joy, Robert, Sandy and Jimmy. Preceded in death by his father and mother; daughter, Julie; and many others.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 12 noon at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), with a viewing for family and friends from 10-11:45 a.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
