Sumter -- Jane McBrayer Ariail, formerly of Spartanburg, widow of James Milton Ariail Jr., died Friday night at a local nursing center.
Native of North Carolina; daughter of the late Harry Gordon and Mary Abbott Candler McBrayer; member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Spartanburg and Trinity United Methodist Church of Sumter; Sunday School teacher; one of the founders of the Bethlehem Center in Spartanburg; retired personnel director for Belk Hudson and Sears Roebuck and Co. in Spartanburg.
Surviving: daughters, Mrs. Clayton Lowder Jr. of Sumter, Miss Mary Green Ariail of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
Services 5 today at Trinity Unsited Methodist Church, Spartanburg by the Rev. Sterne Bolte; burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Lowder Jr., of Highway 15 North, Sumter.
