Edward A. Scott: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice

Deceased Name: Edward A. Scott
San Jose, CA
Edward A. Scott was born on Feb. 16, 1920 in Seattle, to G.M. and Katherine F. Scott. He attended school in Oroville and Automotive Engineering School in Los Angeles. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1941 and rose to the rank of Sergeant, responsible for the Link Trainer Department in Colorado Springs.
It was during this time in Colorado Springs, where he met and married Ethel Banker, his loving wife of 58 years. Following completion of active duty in 1945, they returned to Oroville where he worked with his father in operating Scott Motors Ford Dealership.
Mr. Scott was known for his love of photography. He became recognized as a photographic historian and was published in local history journals, museums and local and state newspapers. His photo chronicle of the pioneer families of Oroville was well received by the local historical society.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel B. Scott, currently residing in San Jose, CA; son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Jane Scott of Los Gatos, CA; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Sharon Scott of Encinitas, CA; grandson and wife, Barrett and Lisa Scott and great-granddaughter, Sydney Scott of San Jose, CA; and grandson, Brian Scott of Denver, CO.
Mr. Scott passed away Jan. 1, 2002 at his home in San Jose, CA.
He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Dorothy and brother Donald.
Donations, in lieu of flowers can be sent to Hospice of the Valley, 1150 South Bascom Avenue, Suite 7A, San Jose, CA 95128.
A Memorial Service for Edward A. Scott, formerly of Oroville, will be held on Jan. 14, 2002 in San Jose, CA.
