Wanda Jenson, a resident of Tumwater for 54 years, died of natural causes in her home May 27, 1997. She was born April 9, 1906, to Joseph and Mary Ann (Moffat) Gale in Teton Basin, Idaho. She graduated from Boise High School, Boise, Idaho, in 1923.

She married Henry S. Jenson on December 8, 1923 in Boise. Mrs. Jenson moved to the Tumwater area in 1943, and purchased Hank's Grocery and Capital Auto Parts, which the Jensons operated until 1968.

She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, going to Reno, watching soap operas and spending time with her grandchildren. According to her family, she was a good cook.

Mrs. Jenson is survived her daughter; three sons; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; four brothers; four sisters; a great granddaughter; and two nephews in World War II.
