She was born in Jørstad, Slidre, Norway. She may have had a surname of "Jørstad" at one point (because of the locality of her birth), but have not seen it in documentation as yet.

Daughter of Niels Nielson and Sigri Eriksdr. Her parents apparently died in Norway. Wife of Gilbert J. Anderson, married 1866 in Norway. She bore six children: Marit (Mary, from first partner Jørgen Iversen), John, Sophie, Nicolai (Nick), Anton, and Edward. Nicknamed "Dordie" or "Dordi".

The wife of Gilbert J. Anderson died last
Friday after a brief illness, and the family
and friends are enveloped in gloom and
sorrow in consequence. The funeral took
place from the Forest church Sunday after--
noon on which occasion upward of seventy
conveyances followed the remains to their
last resting place.

A large number of the people from the
southern and western part of Clay Banks
on Sunday afternoon of last week attended
the funeral of Mrs. Gilbert J. Anderson,
which occurred in the Forest church. It
was one of the largest gatherings ever seen
in the county on a similar occasion.
