Alfred Boone was born March 6, 1867, in Frank Pierce, Johnson County, Iowa, to Abner Boone and Almira Anne Simonton. He stood 5ft. 9 1/2 in. tall, had blue eyes, light hair and a light complexion. He was married twice, the name of first wife is unknown. His second wife was Vivian Bray Ranard, whom he married in July, 1907 in El Paso. Texas. I found no children for them. Alfred had been a telegraph operator and a deputy sheriff in El Paso County, for two years. He was a railroad station agent in Fabens, El Paso County, Texas. Alfred enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a SPECIAL RANGER from May 17, 1918 until January 16, 1919; from January 28, 1928 until January 27, 1929; from January 26, 1929 until January 26, 1930; from January 29, 1930 to January 1, 1931 and from February 9, 1931 to January 18, 1933. His Warrant of Authority was then cancelled. Alfred was a 32 Degree Mason, as was my father, Joe T. Place and they were friends when living and working as Special Rangers in Fabens, Texas. Alfred Boon died June 4, 1938, in McLennon, Texas. He was buried in the Concordia Cemetery in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas.
