Charles O. Mauk, son of Jerome and Katherine Mauk, was born at Talmo March 21, 1902, and died January 17, 1939, at the age of 36 years, 9 months, and 27 days.
He grew to manhood in Talmo and lived there until he was married to Minnie Shaffer at Belleville August 31, 1923. Three daughters were born to them Betty Ann, Bonnie Lou and one preceding her father in death.
In 1923 Mr. and Mrs. Mauk moved to Concordia to make their home where he was employed for eight years as refrigeration engineer at the Concordia Ice and Cold Storage company.
Mr. Mauk was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge. Surviving are his wife, two daughters, his parents, one brother, Lonnie of Talmo, and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Benton of Tucson, Ariz. - Concordia Press
