Phyllis Ada Nedrow Jenkins, 95, of Ashton, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at the Ashton Living Center of causes incident to age.

She was born Dec. 7, 1917 in Ora, Idaho, to George W. and Lela Catherine Waugh Nedrow. She attended grade school in Ora and graduated from Ashton High School.

She married Merlin Jenkins on Oct. 5, 1935, in St. Anthony. In 1937, they moved to their home west of Ashton, where they farmed and ranched. Merlin died Oct. 6, 2006.

Phyllis was a member of the Ashton Methodist Church for many years before joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2002.

She enjoyed sewing, reading, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, flowers and feeding the birds. She also liked family history, hunting, fishing, working in the flea market and helping others. She loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Arlene Studer, of Walla Walla, WA; daughter-in-law, Beverly Jenkins, of Ashton; siblings, Frances Janke, of Wishek, ND, and George Nedrow Jr., of Ashton; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Jenkins; son, Wayne Jenkins; and grandson, Jeff Jenkins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the Ashton 1st Ward Chapel, with Scott Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main St. in Ashton, and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church prior to services. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Phyllis.
