In 1980 Lela was chosen as the Farm Wife of Fremont County by the County Farm Bureau. She was born in Pine Grove, Colorado, near Denver. Just before Christmas in 1912 she moved to Ashton with her family. Lela married George Nedrow in 1915 and they raised six children on a ranch west of Ashton.
