Daughter of Johannis Hendricksz (John Henry) and Alida "Aeltje" (DOREMUS) Francisco. Wife of 1. Henry VAN DER COOK from 1771 to 1813 and 2. Jacob VAN NESS from 1816 to 1826. In 1837, she applied for and obtained a government pension based on Henry VanDerCook's Revolutionary War service in the 14th Regiment, Albany Co., Militia. Although by then in her early eighties and unable to read or write, she was able to give credible testimony before the Justice's Court in Troy. Her pension file (W.26,615) can be obtained from the National Archives. She lies buried next to her first husband as Anna VanDerCook. Her children by Henry were:

1. Cornelia VanDerCook (1772-1858, married John GARRISON, eight children, buried in Michigan)
2. Alida "Olive" VanDerCook (1774-1829, married Andrew WEATHERWAX, thirteen children, buried in the Weatherwax Family Burying Ground, West Glenville, Schenectady Co., NY)
3. Hendrick (Henry) VanDerCook (1775-1835, the name of his wife is currently unknown)
4. Anneke VanDerCook (1777-?)
5. Sarah VanDerCook (1781-1871, married Andrew MORRISON, ten known children, buried in Michigan)
6. Levyntje VanDerCook (1784-?)
7. Jannetje VanDerCook (1786-1856, married Jacob Martin HAYNER, ten children, buried in the Hayner Family Cemetery, Town of Pittstown, Rensselaer Co., NY)
8. Mary Nora VanDerCook (1788-1871, married William HAYNER, four known children, buried in Old Cooksborough Cemetery)
9. Johannis VanDerCook (1791-1797)
10. Margaret VanDerCook (1793-dy)
11. Magdalena VanDerCook (1796-1796)

Many thanks to Jan VanAllen Deka for taking a photograph of my 4th great grandmother's grave for me. Due to the heavy underbrush, I was unable to find it when I walked the cemetery in 1991.
