VALLEY - Miss Megan Elise Templeton, born April 20, 1992, died in Washington on April 24, 2012 at the age of 20.

She lived in Valley most of her life, attended Valley High School and graduated from Harvest Time Ministries in 2010.

She is survived by her mother, Laverne Templeton; sisters, Miranda (Nick) Jarrell and nieces, Lillee and Ella Grace of Roanoke, Amber Templeton of Vancouver, Wash., and a twin sister, Marley Shoffeitt and nephew Jett and niece Jaylyn of Valley; brothers, Cody (Amanda) Templeton of Valley and Matthew and Michael Bennett of Washington; stepbrothers, Levi (Mary) Templeton and Shea (Jesse) Templeton; and her paternal grandmother, Willie Kate Templeton. She is also survived by her birth mother, Suzanne (Mike) Kuhns of Washington; her grandfather, Roger Knowles; her paternal great-grandmother, Faye Knowles; and uncles, Terry (Melinda) Knowles and cousins Ashley and Brandon of Beauregard and Scott (Lacey) Knowles and cousin Dylan of Lanett.

Megan was preceded in death by her father, William Hugh Templeton.

Megan loved the Lord and loved helping others.

God blessed her with a beautiful voice, a talent to draw and the ability to show her love for God and others. She was always very proud to pray for anyone and was responsible for leading many of her friends to find and know her Savior. She loved church and all church functions, especially youth, drama and VBS. Meagan will always be remembered for her vibrant personality, beautiful smile and warm, loving hugs that only she could give.

She will be greatly missed by all. Megan was an organ donor, and through her generosity, saved the lives of three people.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Bass officiating. Interment will follow at Johnson Memorial Gardens in Valley.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
