ANNA E. MELESTER, NEW KINGSTON NATIVE

Anna E. Melester, 97, of the Mennonite Home, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, died there at 2:30 a.m. today after an illness of several months.

She was the wife of the late I. Raymond Melester, who died in 1970.

Mrs. Melester was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, American Association of Retired Persons, and the Happy Hours Club.

Born in New Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Ella E. Corman Eckels.

She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn J., wife of John A. Butz, Landisville; a son, Malcolm T., Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Anna E. Melester, 97, of Lancaster, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1995, in the Mennonite Home in Lancaster.

Born May 11, 1897, in New Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late Samuel E. and Ella Corman Eckels. She was the widow of I. Raymond Melester, who died in October, 1970.

She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Lancaster.

Surviving are her daughter, Evelyn J. Butz of Landisville; one son, Malcolm T. of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, with the Rev. Mark L. Russell officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, North Middleton Township.

Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
