ROCKDALE - Francie Ruth Wilson Herring was born Sept. 10, 1945, in Corsicana, Texas, to Grady Cade and Marjorie Ann (Harper) Wilson. She lived the past 48 years in Rockdale. She and JT Herring were married March 16, 1962, in Cuidad Acuna, Mexico, and then again March 31, 1962, in Sanderson, Texas.
Francie retired from the Texas Racing Commission in Manor as an auditor. She had also worked as a school bus driver for Rockdale ISD, a waitress, a tax examiner for the I.R.S., worked for the U.S. Treasury Department and had been a secretary. Francie was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Rockdale, member of Milam County Geneological Society, Milam County Historical Society, Sons of Hermann, Friends of the Library and Daughters of American Revolution.
She was a volunteer with the Rockdale EMS during late 1970's and early 80's. She enjoyed reading and playing bridge. Francie passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, in Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital in Temple, reaching the age of 67.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Allen Herring III; and her parents. Surviving are her husband, JT Herring of Rockdale; four daughters, Bobbi R. Faust of Rockdale, Sandra Herring and husband Jim Boyd of Bremond, Tracy Sparks and husband Clay of Brenham and Cassidy Herring of Rockdale; brother Marion Wilson of Anthony, Kan.; sister Carolyn Rogers of Meridian; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
