CAROLINE W. FLANDERS
Caroline Wilson Flanders daughter of pioneer sea captain, and life-long resident of Portland, died Sunday at her home at 2421 SW Arden Road. She would have been 97 Tuesday.
She was born in Portland Nov. 10, 1873, the daughter of Capt. George Flanders, after whom Flanders Street was named. He came to Portland in 1849.
Her uncle was Capt. John H. Couch, after whom Couch Street was named.
Miss Flanders was active in Trinity Episcopal Church, and was one of the original donors to the State of Oregon to establish Ecola State Park in Clatsop County.
Funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Riverview Cemetery. Interment will be in the Flanders lot at the cemetery.
