GREENFIELD - Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Pasco Memorial Mortuary for James A. Coffman, age 62 years, who died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hancock Memorial Hospital the result of a heart attack he sustained the previous Friday. Rev. W.V. Sleamaker, pastor of the South St. Methodist Church officiated. Interment in Park Cemetery.
Mr. Coffman was born in Tennessee, the son of John and Belle Sexton Coffman and had been a resident of Greenfield since 1923. A World War I veteran he was a member of Hancock Post NO. 119, the American Legion, The Eagles Lodge and the Joseph L. Allen Barracks of World War I Veterans.
Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Fannie Coffman, one sister Mrs. William (Nellie) Sands of Cambridge City, several nieces and nephews.

Alto served during WW I in France about 1817-1919.

He was also known as "Red" by many family and friends.
