Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 in Pear Valley Cemetery under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. James Murphy of North Side Church of Christ will conduct the services. Friends and family will gather at Lohn Tabernacle after the service.
Mom was born Nov. 4, 1912, the eldest child of eight, to Charles Alfred and Tishie (Huffman) Latimer at home in Rochelle, Texas. She graduated from Lohn High School. She married Jesse H. Marshall Dec. 25, 1936; they farmed the Marshall and Latimer properties until they moved to Freeport in 1947. They moved to San Angelo in 1951. Dad preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Kirby and George; sisters Donna and T. H. Marsden, Betty and Lee Roy Kensing, Marie and Hardy Marshall; and brother-in-law Marion Ferguson. She is survived by her brother, Robert and wife Corine Latimer of San Antonio; her sister, Emmy Ferguson of Beaumont; and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Hutchens and Sharon Camfield of San Angelo and their families, Connie and Charles's children and grandchildren, Walter Timm, David, Jennifer and Miranda Timm, Tara Carver, Mindy Salmon and Macy Smithson, Julianna Hodges, Scott Hutchens, Stephanie Hutchens; and Charles' "husband-in-law", James Timm, Sharon and Tom's children and grandchildren, Jon and Audrey Camfield of Washington, D. S., Evan, Juliane and Caspia Camfield of Brooklyn, N. Y. and Dylan, Alise and Lauren Camfield of Albuquerque, N. M..
Special thanks to all who visited, sent cards, flowers, made cookies and offered prayers for Mom and the family. The staff at BRC has been Mother's comfort and care givers. The family is so thankful for their loving care. We have learned so much from Mom, although not as much as she tried to teach us. In the last few months she has taught us by example how to be gracious even when one is in pain. She always thanked the nurses and staff for everything they did for her. She offered everyone who came to see her coffee or tea; she then added with a sweet smile, "of course, you will have to help yourself." She praised the nurses and staff to us while they were in the room, and after they left, she would tell us how good they were to her. She was a lady in the true sense of the word. She will be missed."
