Carolyn Wendt Broughton, 87, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at FirstHealth Hospice House, in Pinehurst.
A memorial service will be conducted after the holidays.
Burial will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
Mrs. Broughton is survived by her husband, Bill Broughton; a stepson, Paul L. Broughton; a grandson, Edward Broughton; and cousins, Ann and John Schmidt.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Warren L. Broughton, M.D.
