Nancy (Schott) Short, 68, of Germantown Hills, formerly of Ottawa and Peru, passed away Dec. 21, 2012, in St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa, with the Rev. David Kipfer, pastor of St. Columba Church in Ottawa, officiating.

Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Nancy was born March 22, 1944, in Ottawa to Bert and Jean (Looney) Schott. She married Alan J. Short on Nov. 23, 1968, in St. Columba Church.

She was a graduate of Marquette High School and St. Joseph Nursing School in Joliet. She worked at Tobler Transfer in Spring Valley and later was a bookkeeper for Consolidated Freight in Peru. She attended Resurrection Church in La Salle.

She is survived by her husband, Alan of Germantown Hills; one daughter, Tracee (Frank) Nichols of Marseilles; her mother, Jean Schott of Ottawa; and one brother, James (Ruth) Schott of Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Memorials may be directed to Marquette Academy.
