Benjamin Mora Córdova, age 89, passed away on Christmas night, December 25, 2004.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances and grandson, Tomas.
Ben is survived by his longtime companion, Dora Velasco and her six children, Isabel Martínez, Sylvia Velasco, Dora Patricia Candelaria, Belinda Mora, Corinne Sánchez and David Velasco.
Ben was a retiree of Sandia National Laboratories and a World War II Veteran.
Ben and Frances had ten children, Benjamin Córdova Jr. and his friend, Victor López of Albuquerque, children, Michael, Leon and Rachel, Isabel Córdova of Peralta, children, Bill and Ramon, Marty Hawkins and her husband, Daniel of Victorville, CA, children, Dan, Jacob, Zachary and Melissa, Dyanne Klepper and her husband, Mike of San Diego, CA, Ray Anthony Córdova and his friend, Patterson Platero of Albuquerque, Joseph Córdova and his friend, Janet Córdova of Albuquerque, children, Joseph Jr., Michelle and Jonathan, Aurelia "Jane" Cordova-Crews and her husband, Dale of Albuquerque, child, Justin Pierce, Tommy Córdova and his wife, Loretta of Albuquerque, children, Celina and Santiago, Stanley Córdova and his wife, Lee of Albuquerque, Johnny Córdova and his wife, Yvonne of Albuquerque, child, John Jr. Ben is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, sister, Patsy Nelson of Albuquerque, brother, Joe Córdova and his wife, Priscilla of Mariposa, CA.
Ben was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ben will be forever in our thoughts.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway Blvd. SE. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. Private interment of cremated remains will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
