Found in The State 15 January 1989: Clarence O. Galloway, 68, of 1200 Hammick St., died Friday. Born in Richland County, he was a son of the late C. M. and Mrs. Mary Goins Galloway. He was a former employee of Colite Industries and a member of the Salvation Army of Columbia. He was a World War II Army veteran, participating in D-Day at Normandy, and received the Good Conduct Medal and the ETO Ribbon. Surviving are brothers, James "Sid" Galloway of Lexington and E. R. Galloway of Taylors. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel of West Columbia, with burial in Olympia Cemetery.
