Born in Rich Square, N.C., he was the son of the late Richard and Eva Wolfrey Biggs. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a lifelong member of the NAACP and a musician for many years for many churches.
He is survived by two nieces, Sonia Wolfrey and Roberta Wolfrey; two nephews, Raymond Wolfrey and Robert Wolfrey Jr., all of Norfolk; a cousin, Elizabeth Carter of Norfolk; a longtime friend, McAllister Banks of Berkley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at noon Thursday at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Street, by the Rev. Joseph Lassister. Burial in Calvary Cemetery .
