James Edward "Cricket" Gregory, Jr., of Huntsville, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the age of 55 from ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease. He was born May 7, 1957 in Houston, Texas to James Edward Gregory, Sr. and Shirley June Gregory.

He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1976. While still in High School, James was employed by Guerrant's Lucky Seven grocery store, until the time of its closing, at which time he went to work for Minimax/Piggly Wiggly, until its closing. James has been employed by Sam Houston State University since 1990.

James loved to hunt with his Dad, brother, uncles and friends. He also loved to drive his 4-wheeler, Polaris Ranger and tractor at the Gregory farm in Shiro, Texas.

Preceded in death by his father, James Edward Gregory, Sr. Survived by his mother, Shirley June Gregory; his sister, Gerrie Lynn Gregory Scott; his brother, Johnny Gregory and a whole host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, of which there are too many to name.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Huntsville, Texas. Burial will follow service at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie, Texas.
