OBITUARY from Unknown Source - DAVID R. SETTLEMEYER - Well known Bedford county citizen and resident of New Enterprise, died at his home there Tuesday afternoon at 1.45 o’clock following a short illness. He was born in Somerset county on Oct. 31, 1864. He was twice married, the first union being with Minnie Helsel. Four children were born to this union, two of of whom died in infancy, a daughter, Mrs. Laura Ritchey, died sixteen years ago and a son Harrrison B. Settlemeyer of Bakers Summit, survives. His second marriage was with Mary C. Markle, who survives, with the following children: Mrs. R. A. Barkley of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Grace Ferry of New Enterprise and C. L. Settlemeyer of Altoona, and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a lifelong member of the Woodbury Church of God and served as elder for many years and at his death was a life elder. Mr. Settlemeyer in his younger life spent eighteen years as a teacher in the Bedford county schools and then took up farming, which he followed the remainder of his life. Friends will be received at the home. SETTLEMEYER — Funeral services for David R. Settlemeyer will be conducted Friday afternoon in the Woodbury Church of God, the cortege to leave the home at New Enterprise at 2 o'clock. Services will be in charge of his pastor, Rev. E. F. Berger. Interment in the Holsinger cemetery. Friends will be received at the home at New Enterprise.
