Nancy Chalmers Jones is the daughter of Calvin G. Jones (1809–1869) and Mary Elizabeth Jane Coleman (1825–1880). She married James Alexander Creel. Bore 11 children, only 6 of whom reached adulthood, 2 sons and 4 daughters. Their children include:

Pioneer Dies, Stroke Victim

Mrs. Nancy Chalmers Creel, 83, resident of this area for more than 40 years, died this morning at her home five miles northeast of Skiatook of a stroke of paralysis. She had been ill six years.

Mrs. Creel and her husband, the late J.A. Creel, came to Oklahoma from Arkansas shortly after the turn of the century and settled near Broken Arrow. Excepting a year in Vinita, they had resided not more than 25 miles from Tulsa since that time.

Mr. Creel, a farmer, died June 11, 1940. She is survived by two sons, Tom, living southeast of Broken Arrow and Will W. Creel, living northeast of Tulsa; four daughters, Mrs. W.U. Smoot of 217 S. Peoria Av., Mrs. Fred C. Dacus of Skiatook, Mrs. Bessie Martin of the home and Mrs. Horace McCormack of Iola, Kan., 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Moores Memory chapel. Interment will be in the Broken Arrow cemetery.
