AUBURNDALE – Funeral services were held this morning in St. Mary's Catholic Church here for Peter J. Weber, 85, Auburndale, who died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids. He was a patient at the hospital for one week.

The Rev. Joseph Wagner officiated at the funeral mass and burial followed in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Weber was a former assessor in the village of Auburndale and a former supervisor for the town of Arpin.

He was born June 24, 1884, in Fond du Lac County, and came to the Auburndale area in 1907. His marriage to Eleanor Baltus took place here June 14, 1910. She died May 10, 1965.

After their marriage the couple moved to the town of Arpin where they operated a farm until retiring about 20 years ago when they moved to the village of Auburndale. Mr. Weber was also engaged in the insurance business, retiring from that work the past year.

Survivors include two sons, Claude and Orville, and a daughter, Mrs. Sylvester Mancl, all of Rt. 1, Auburndale; a brother, Victor , Deer Lodge, Mont., 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Seven sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
