Louis P. Machek, 84, of 204 East St., DePue, Illinois, USA, died at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1991, at Saint Francis Medical Center. Born June 17, 1907, in Mark, Illinois to Vincent and Aloysia Pauline Machek Sr., he married Mary Zoran on Feb. 8, 1937, in DePue. She died in 1982. He was co-owner and operator of Machek Market in DePue. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in DePue; Knights of Columbus; DePue Citizens League; DePue Booster Club; Lake DePue Preservation Association; and was a 50-year member of S.N.P.J. Lodge 59 of DePue. He served on the DePue Municipal Band for more than 50 years and was president of the DePue School Board and Village Council.
