L. Duane Allen age 86 of Lynchburg died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at his home. He was born July 10, 1926 near Lynchburg, Ohio the son of the late Truman E. and Hazel Lavon Lafferty Allen. Mr. Allen had retired from the General Motors Corporation after thirty-two years of service. He was a life member of the Lynchburg VFW Post and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Faul Allen whom he had married on May 21, 1955, two daughters, four grandchildren, one great grandson, of Wilmington, one special niece, of Lynchburg and several additional nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23rd at the Troutwine Cemetery. Paul Carpenter will officiate. Military services will be presented by the Highland County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lynchburg Area Fire and Ambulance District, P. O. Box 585 Lynchburg, Ohio 45142 or to Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation, 10810 East 45th Street, Suite 300, Tulsa, OK 74146. The Davis-Turner Funeral Home is serving the family.
