William Henry "Bill" Baxter, 76, of Dothan died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at his home. Mr. Baxter was a native and longtime resident of Malone prior to moving to Dothan 22 years ago. He was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebron Green and Iona Grice Baxter. He is survived by his devoted companion for 22 years Ella Skinner; two daughters, Barbara Railey and husband, Sam of Ozark, Ala., Merita Phillips of Donalsonville, Ga.; four step-children, Christy Parrish and husband, Dewayne of Ashford, Ala., Tanya Skinner and husband, John of Montgomery, Ala., Libby Skinner and husband, Bill of Panama City, Fla., Cory Skinner of Montgomery, Ala.; three brothers, John Baxter and wife, Louise of Camp-bellton, Fla., Sebron Baxter of Cottondale, Fla., Alex Baxter and wife, Rannie of Woodsville, Ala.; four sisters, Stella Burke of Teahochpi, Ca., Pearlie Noble of Marianna, Fla., Eldridge Sims and husband, Jimmy of Marianna, Fla., Becky Stephens and husband, Lamar of Alford, Fla.; ten grandchildren Joni Phillips, Crystal Phillips, Brandi Spurling, Kimberely Shoub, Lucas Phillips, Brittany Parrish, Alyssa Parrish, Brandon Skinner and Courtney Parrish; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. DeWayne Sims and Rev. Gary Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Collins Chapel Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Pallbearers are Mike Hall, Allen Noble, Dennis Noble, Sam Railey, Lamar Stephens and Michael Stephens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 at Maddox Chapel.
