Born to Benjamin Franklin & Maude Mae (McLain) Bearce. She was next to the oldest child in a family of 6 children. At the age of 6, during the tragic flu epidemic, her mother, two brothers, and two sister died, leaving her father, sister Hazel, and herself. She married Joseph Warden Wix April 18, 1934.
