Agnes K. Cothern, age 82, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in the Pavilion Nursing Home in Baxley after an extended illness. She was formerly of Alma, but had been living in Baxley since 1997.
She was a native of Appling County and daughter of the late Jesse Frank Kicklighter and Agnes Crummey Kicklighter. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Green (Gene) Cothern, son, Thomas B. Cothern, brother, Thomas Kicklighter and three sisters, Kate Griffin, Fannie Stephens & Pearlie Jackson.
Survivors include two daughters, Eugenia Loper of Alma and Sandra Drew and husband John of Baxley, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 26th, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Thigpen and Rev. Rick Esterline officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening between the hours of 6 and 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Todd Saverance, Todd Drew, Ken Loper, Bayne Griffin, Tam Eden & Randy Kimbrel. Honorary pallbearers will be; Jay Williams, Appling Hospital Staff, Appling County Pavilion Staff and Dr. Orlando Fernando.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
