- Cross: Died at his home in this vicinity, Abraham Gallaway, colored. The deceased was sick for some time. He was 70 years of age, the youthful portion of his life being spent in slavery. The internment took place on the farm of Joshua Kight. He was a devoted and sincere Christian. A grown family mourn their loss.

Ibid- Gertie's Items: We are sorry to learn of the death of Abram Galloway, colored of Hampshire Hill, who was buried last Monday. He was better known by the name of Uncle Abe.
