Leslie Jennings Jr., 85, Henderson, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at his home.

He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, where he had served as a Eucharistic Minister, treasurer and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and member of the Men's Club. Leslie was an electrician with Inland Container, having retired after 43 years. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by one son, David Leslie Jennings; his parents, Leslie Jennings Sr. and Vivian Williams Jennings; and one brother, Hugh Jennings.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Sarah Hamilton Jennings; three daughters, Pattye Tweddell and her husband, Steve, of Henderson, Sallie Greenfield and her husband, Michael, of Evansville and Helen Gonsalves and her husband, Gary, of Boulder, Colo.; one son, Paul Jennings and his wife, Alice, of Columbia, Tenn.; two sisters, Elaine Logan of Henderson and Linda Ligon of Houston; thirteen grandchildren, Sean Greenfield, Anne Marie Greenfield, Steven Tweddell, Vince Tweddell, Elizabeth Tweddell Warren, Joshua Tweddell, Sam Jennings, Andrea Harris, Kathryn Jennings, Rachel Leslie Woodcock, Kevin Gonsalves, Scott Gonsalves and Rebecca Gonsalves; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at noon Wednesday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Father J. Edward Bradley will officiate. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today and until 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 5:30 p.m. today.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School or St. Anthony's Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Sean Greenfield, Steven Tweddell, Vince Tweddell, John Cecil Thrasher, Brad Boyd and Ken Christopher.

Honorary pallbearers will be Herman Greenwell, Andre Trawick, John Prough, Pat Mellen and Charlie Shade.
