Mrs. Clarinda Durocher, 78, former West Springfield resident, and mother of baseball's Leo Durocher, died yesterday morning at a Chicopee Fall nursing home.
Ill for some times, Mrs. Durocher died at 10 a.m. at the Hampden Nursing home.
Leo, New York Giants manager, is expected to leave the club today, attend the funeral tomorrow, and rejoin the Giants Wednesday.
Funeral will be held Tuesday at 8.15 at the Curran-Jones funeral home. A solemn requiem high mass will follow in St. Thomas church, West Springfield at 9. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemerery.
Mrs. Durocher was born in Canada June 11, 1877 of Mr. and Mrs. Euclid Provost. She was the widow of George J. Durocher who died in 1938.
In addition to Leo, she leaves three other sons, Armand of Springfield, Clarence G. of Longmeadow, and Raymond B. of California ; three brothers, Ernest and Hilaire Provost both of Springfield and Alphonse of West Springfield; a sister Mrs. Carlyle Davis of West Springfield; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
