DEATH OF MR GLEISER.
Mr. George Gleiser, one of the oldest and most respected residents of Waterloo died very suddenly last Saturday afternoon of heart failure. He went to the Lutheran church about 2 o'clock with his son Mr. Peter Gleiser, to be present at the funeral services of the late Mrs. Decher. On his way thither he complained of pain in the chest. Arrived at the church he was about to sit down in a pew but fell on the floor. Helping hands at once raised him and a medical man was sent for, who, after a short examination, found that the spark of life had fled.

Mr. Gleiser was born on the 11th of February, 1815, at Schweinsburg, KurHessen, emigrated to America in 1841, came to Waterloo on the 8th of June of the same year where he resided up to the time of his death. He was married to Anna Catherine Wilker who died on the 10th of July 1889. Seven children were the fruit of this marriage, of whom one died in its infancy. He leaves behind him 2 sons and 4 daughters to mourn their loss. The funeral on Tuesday afternoon was very largely attended and showed the high esteem in which the deceased was held by his fellow citizens.
