They moved their family to Sanilac County, MI. Their son Francis Carman was pretty well-known in Worth Township, Sanilac Co., Michigan. The Carman Cemetery is where John and Mary Hedrick's son, Alfred Hedrick is buried.
Alfred's brother George Hedrick married Mercena (Marlina in some records) VanCamp. She died during the Civil War, and after the war George married Salinda Mills and moved the family to Iowa.
